Carnatic Circle offers its heartiest good wishes to all members of your family on the auspicious day of Saraswati Puja. Kindly let your children know about Saraswathi puja and what they can do today.
Saraswathi Puja is a very important part of our Navaratri festival. It is typically performed in South India. It is also practised in other parts of India, but in a different manner.
When – Saraswathi Puja is normally the last day of Navaratri which is (10th Oct 2016) also referred to as Navami. Ayudha Puja (Tools/Instruments) and Saraswathi (books) puja is done on this day.
What to do – Place your tools/music instruments/books in front of Goddess Saraswathi on Navami day and do not use or touch them that day until the following day which is Vijayadashami. Decorate the Idol of Goddess Saraswathi with flowers. Light a Lamp and/or Agarbathis and Pray to Lord Ganesha. Carefully, apply Sandalwood paste to the tools/instruments and books and keep some flowers on them. Offer any prasadam/Neivedyam to the Goddess. Chant any other Shlokas/Songs that you know or have been taught before.
